What Mind Raider is
Mind Raider is a multiplayer party game for Android. Every round, everyone gets the same question and four answers. You pick your own answer, then guess what each of your friends picked, and you score 40 points for every friend you read correctly.
It is built for the moment at a dinner table or in a group chat when someone says "I know exactly what you'd say", and everyone else says "go on then, prove it". Mind Raider turns that into a game you can actually score.
Why we made it
Mind Raider started with a debate between friends that never got settled. In our group, everyone was convinced they knew the others best: how they think, what they'd choose, what they'd say before they said it. Everyone claimed the title. Nobody could prove it.
We wanted a fair way to settle it once and for all: the same question for everyone, secret answers, everyone guessing everyone, and a score at the end that nobody can argue with. Nothing like that existed in quite the way we wanted, so we built it. Mind Raider is the game we made to finally find out who in the group really knows each other best, and how each of us thinks.
It turns out the answers are surprising, even after years of friendship. That's what makes it fun to play again.
Who makes it
Mind Raider is made by Tomas Dev Studio, the name under which an independent developer publishes games and apps. There is no large studio or publisher behind it: the same small team designs the game, writes the questions, builds the app and answers the support emails.
Being independent shapes a few decisions you'll notice in the game: there is no subscription, the paid upgrade is a single purchase, and you can play the whole game as a guest without creating an account.
How the questions are chosen
The built-in Classic set has 200 questions across six categories: Legends, Tech and Future, Money and Work, Ethics and Society, Relationships, and Lifestyle. Every question has to pass three tests before it goes in:
- It has no correct answer. "Greatest footballer of all time?" works. "What is the capital of France?" does not.
- All four answers are defensible. If one option would obviously win, nobody needs to read anyone.
- It reveals something about the person. Your answer to "Should you lend money to friends?" says more about you than your answer to "Best pizza topping?".
Questions are reviewed and replaced over time based on how they play. We explain the full approach in how to write party questions that start arguments, which is also a guide to writing your own packs.
How Mind Raider makes money
We think you should know how a free game pays for itself:
- Ads. The free version shows ads between rounds and on result screens, never while a round is being played. This website shows a single banner on some pages.
- Premium. A one-time purchase that removes ads for you and for every party you host, and lets you create up to 10 custom question packs.
We don't sell personal information. The privacy policy lists exactly what the app and this website collect and why.
Safety and fair play
Usernames and custom questions are checked against a blocked-words list. Any player can be reported or blocked from their name in a party, the results or a leaderboard, and reports are reviewed. Picks stay hidden on the server until the round is revealed, so nobody can see an answer early. The full rules are in our terms and community rules.
