FOR EVERYONE

Accessibility statement

Mind Raider should be easy to use for everyone. Here's what we've done, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us about a problem.

Our commitment

Mind Raider is a game about understanding other people, and that should include people who see, hear, move or read differently. We want this website and the Mind Raider app to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or larger text.

The standard we follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, published by the W3C. WCAG 2.2 AA includes the requirements of WCAG 2.1 AA, the level used by the European standard EN 301 549 under the European Accessibility Act, and of WCAG 2.0 AA, the basis of the Israeli standard IS 5568.

Our assessment is that this website substantially meets WCAG 2.2 AA, with the exceptions listed under known limitations below.

What we've done on this website

  • Structure: every page has one main heading, headings in order, and labelled regions (header, menu, main content, footer) so screen readers can jump between them.
  • Skip link: a "Skip to content" link appears as the first item when you press Tab.
  • Keyboard: every link, button and expandable answer works with a keyboard, and the focused item has a clear outline.
  • Colour contrast: text meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text. We changed several brand colours (including our red stickers and green score labels) to pass.
  • Text size and zoom: pages can be zoomed to 200% and read on a 320 pixel wide screen without scrolling sideways.
  • Images: screenshots have text descriptions; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
  • Video: the trailer on the home page starts muted, has Pause and Sound buttons, and does not play automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Language and links: pages declare their language, and links describe where they go.
  • Tables and lists use proper table headers and list markup.

What we've done in the app

  • Text and buttons meet WCAG AA colour contrast (4.5:1 for small text).
  • Buttons and controls are labelled for TalkBack, Android's screen reader.
  • The app follows your phone's font size setting.
  • Sound effects and music can be turned off separately in Profile > Settings > Sound.
  • A short "How to play" guide and a guided practice round explain the game step by step.

How we tested

  • An automated scan of every page of this website with axe-core (version 4.10), checking WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 rules at levels A and AA. The last scan found no failures.
  • Manual checks of keyboard navigation, focus order, colour contrast (including text on our striped background), 200% zoom and small screens.

Automated tools can't find every problem, which is why we welcome reports from people who use assistive technology every day.

Known limitations

  • Game timer: rounds in the app last 30 seconds. The timer is a core part of the game and can't be extended, which may make online games harder for some players. Practice games against bots let you learn at your own pace, and a wrong or missed guess never costs points.
  • The trailer video has music but no speech, so it has no captions. Everything it shows is also described in text on the home page.
  • Third-party content: ads and the cookie consent message are provided by Google. We don't control how they are built, but you can close the ad banner.
  • Legal pages (privacy policy and terms) are also shown inside the app and use a simpler layout without the site menu.

Tell us about a problem

If something on this website or in the app is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please email support@mind-raider.app with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use if you're happy to. We read every message and will reply as soon as we can.

Mind Raider is an online-only game and website; there are no physical premises.
